Facet: The Diamond Place Newsletter

A Note from our Founder, Tiffany:

August is nearly over, and it's hard to believe! Summer has gone quickly, and as we enter a new season of change, the start of school and fall, The Diamond Place is also experiencing transformation.

We continue to focus on building relationships throughout the community.

The Diamond Place hosted Rooted & Rising, a restorative plant workshop led by Heather Johnson on August 12th. Participants created and took home their own houseplant while exploring the meaningful connection between nurturing a plant and nurturing their own growth, healing, and resilience.

We also had a booth at Western Welcome Week in Littleton on August 15th. We are so grateful to all who stopped by our booth to shop for jewelry, cowboy boots, hats, and more! They learned how we’re helping women heal, rediscover their worth, and create new possibilities, and each purchase supported our mission. Thank you to all who came out!

I am deeply honored to see so many people recognizing the value of the programs we are building at The Diamond Place and the impact MAE will bring to our community.

Every new partnership, volunteer, sponsor, introduction, and opportunity reminds me that this work is needed and that we are not building it alone. I am incredibly grateful for everyone who has offered their time, expertise, encouragement, and support, and especially for the women who trust us to walk alongside them.

Thank you for believing in this mission and helping us create a future where women can find support more easily, rebuild with confidence, and know they do not have to navigate life’s hardest seasons alone.

The Diamond Place Updates:

We are thrilled to welcome Yahaira and Heather to The Diamond Place! Yahaira will support community engagement, outreach, and financial-empowerment efforts. Heather will assist with workshops, participant support, and community programming. Their experience and passion for helping women will strengthen our programs and expand our impact.

We look forward to being out in the community over the next few months. Visit our booth, attend a workshop, learn more about our programs, and connect with our team. We hope to see you soon!

Healing and rebuilding do not require a perfect plan. This month’s resource is a gentle reminder that it is okay to pause, take one manageable step at a time, and allow your path forward to unfold. You are not behind, and you do not have to navigate everything alone.

Volunteer Program Expansion
We have created volunteer opportunities in community outreach, events, grant writing, fundraising, corporate sponsorships, social media, workshop support, resource research, data entry, and administrative support. Other ways to get involved: attend an upcoming community event, introduce us to a potential partner, become a sponsor, donate an item or service, invite us to speak, or help us connect with women who may benefit from our programs.

Small introductions can create big opportunities. If you know a business, organization, therapist, advocate, speaker, funder, volunteer, or community leader who should know about The Diamond Place, we would be grateful for the connection.

📖Book UnMasked: Release October 2026📖

Unmasked is a raw and honest story about what happens when survival becomes an identity and what it takes to finally come home to yourself. Through trauma, loss, resilience, and dark humor, Tiffany Sharp explores the masks we wear to appear strong, successful, and unaffected. This book is not about becoming who you were before. It is about discovering who you are when you no longer have to hide.

Read an excerpt:

For most of my life, I thought strength meant being able to take a hit without letting anyone see that it hurt.

Keep working. Keep smiling. Keep helping everyone else. Make the joke before someone asks if you are okay. Be successful enough that no one looks too closely. Be strong enough that no one realizes you are barely holding yourself together.

I became very good at surviving.

So good, in fact, that even I stopped recognizing it as survival.

I called it independence. Ambition. Loyalty. Resilience. I wore each word like a badge of honor while quietly abandoning myself to keep the peace, keep the job, keep the relationship, or keep someone else from becoming uncomfortable.

There were many versions of me.

The responsible one.

The funny one.

The successful one.

The woman who could handle anything.

Each version served a purpose. Each one helped me make it through something I did not yet have the words, safety, or support to process.

But masks are heavy.

Eventually, your body begins telling the truth your mouth has been trained to hide. Your nervous system does not care how impressive your résumé is. It does not care how convincing your smile looks in a photograph. It remembers every moment you felt trapped, powerless, threatened, abandoned, or afraid.

Mine remembered everything.

Healing began when I stopped asking, “What is wrong with me?” and started asking, “What happened to me and what did I have to become to survive it?”

That question changed everything.

It allowed me to look at the scattered pieces of my life with compassion instead of shame. I was not weak because I struggled. I was not broken because ordinary things sometimes felt impossible. I was not failing because my body could not simply forget what it had endured.

I was responding exactly as a human being responds when too much has happened for too long.

Unmasking has not been a beautiful, graceful transformation. It has been messy, uncomfortable, funny in wildly inappropriate places, and sometimes deeply painful. It has required me to grieve who I was, forgive who I had to become, and take responsibility for who I want to be next.

This is not a story about returning to the woman I was before trauma.

I do not want to go backward.

This is the story of meeting the woman underneath it all the woman who no longer has to perform strength, earn love, shrink to stay safe, or apologize for taking up space.

The woman who survived is not the end of my story.

She is the reason I get to write the next chapter...

Next Month: Cover Reveal and Where to Purchase...

Final Thought:

The path to self-discovery is not a straight line. It’s a zigzag. We move in and out of awareness: one step forward, three steps to the left, a baby step back, another leap forward. A lightbulb moment might shine brightly one day, but then flicker the next. It takes work to hold tightly to a certain consciousness, to live in its wisdom. Every day, I have to intentionally maintain an awareness of my value. ~Alicia Keys
